The Destination

Monte Velho is a venue located on the Costa Vicentina, a privileged place surrounded by nature and overlooking the sea. Ideal for connection and relaxation. Suites for couples and families and groups who want to enjoy quality time between nature and the beach, offering surfing experiences, bike rides, massages at the SPA and yoga classes. The accommodation is a 5-minute drive from Praia do Amado, in Carrapateira. The House

Monte Velho is a rustic country house built in taipa (traditional mud construction). All suites have a private bathroom and a terrace with a hammock to relax, overlooking the forest of the Costa Vicentina Natural Park. All materials for practice are provided. WiFi is available in the reception area, living room and dining room.

Ecological Philosophy and practice for Sustainability Monte Velho is sharing space and a holistic learning centre. We want to share our experience with our guests so that everyone can benefit from reconnecting with Nature, protecting it and integrating it in a sustainable way in our life and daily practices. It is a daily learning experience and the changes each person makes in his or her lifestyle happen gradually. We are always open to learning from other people’s experiences. New ideas and projects on sustainability are more than welcome.

We aim to inspire others to do more and better for the health of our planet and for the future of new generations. We strive for a sustainable approach to energy, water, waste management, building and environmental awareness, which is why we are constantly seeking to improve the quality of our services and getting there with less environmental impact.

Accommodation

Monte Velho is a rustic country house built in taipa (traditional mud construction). All suites have a private bathroom and a terrace with a hammock to relax, overlooking the forest of the Costa Vicentina Natural Park. During the retreats we serve full board vegetarian catering. If staying in bed and breakfast you can enjoy our breakfast served in the spacious dining room and on the terrace. The venue has yoga shalas for your personal practice or to join our teachers' classes. All materials for practice are provided. WiFi is available in the reception area, living room and dining room.
