Chloe is your host for this experience and will provide you with all the information needed.

I'm the founder of TYR and my mission in life is simple: to encourage and facilitate authentic happiness in myself and those around me, and this goes into each and every class I teach. My yoga journey began in 2006 as a way for me to increase fitness to improve my surfing, but little did I know that it would also change my life. A strong home practice has been my go-to, and Eoin Finn’s Blissology my staple along the way. Wanting to do nothing by halves, I finally went to Bali in 2016 to get my 200-hour yoga teaching certificate with Eoin and came home a Blissology-inspired yoga teacher. I've been teaching yoga classes around York, England since 2016, and moved my brick-and-mortar studio online in early 2020. I remain a pretty shit surfer.

Tell us more about what brought you to the path that you're on, the "why" behind your business and your offering(s), what excites you most about the work that you do, etc...?

What brought me to the path that I am on? I think I just wanted some movement practice in my life that wasn't running or sports - they just never clicked with me. And this yoga thing seemed a good fit as I'd read about how great it was for improving your surfing. And if it improved my surfing then I was in. So I found a pirate copy of a yoga for surfers DVD and the rest is history. What is the "why" behind my business and my offering(s)? I realised when I worked in a miserable corporate gig that I didn't really think there was much more important in life than finding joy. Needless to say, I didn't last long in that job, but the learnings from that time have been my rock ever since. How can I make a more joyful impact on the world? How can I make the world a bit brighter? And my answer came out as The Yoga Revolution. What excites me most about the work that I do? So much! But I think one of the most exciting things is taking people from zero yoga to feeling all the benefits of the practice. Seeing people deal better with chronic pain or anxiety is a magical thing. This is what gets me out of bed in the morning for sure.
